Remedi and Medisure Rebrand to Simplyhealth - From 1st June 2009
Following the rebranding of BCWA to Simplyhealth on 1st May, Remedi and Medisure brands will also be replaced by Simplyhealth from 1st June. Submission of electronic bills to Remedi and Medisure will be available electronically under the new name - Simplyhealth. From Monday, 1st June Remedi and Medisure will display as Simplyhealth on Healthcode's list of insurers, they will also be available on Healthcode's Secure Messaging Service (SMS) listed as Simplyhealth, details can be found via Messaging > Contact > Insurer Quick Reference Guide.
The rebrands to Simplyhealth will only impact validation rule 43 (patient insurer registration number), of the old BCWA rules (renamed as Simplyhealth and available to view on Healthcode from 1st June). A list of Simplyhealth policy registration numbers is available here.

Change to Standard Life Patient Insurer Registration/ Policy number validation rule - 1st June 2009 Standard Life have advised that Policy numbers beginning with YE, YC and PPM are no longer valid, these are the old FirstAssist policy numbers, which are no longer in use.
From 1st June, the vaild policy formats are as follows:
- X/NNNNNNN e.g. H/1234567 or 4/1234567
- XNNNNNNNN e.g. K/12345678 or 2/1245678
- NNNNNNNN e.g. 12345678 and cannot start with a zero
In the examples above X is alpha-numeric and N is numeric.
Please use the membership look up system to obtain the new policy numbers if you are having any problems.
Changes to these validation rules will be implemented on Healthcode systems on 1st June.
PruHealth are now on board to accept electronic billing from specialists. If you have an existing relationship with PruHealth, you will have already been activated to submit electronic bills to PruHealth. Log in to your account and navigate to Settings > Practice info and click on the 'Payee Provider' tab to check if your account has been activated. VEDA users will see 'Site Info' instead of 'Practice info'. From Monday, 1st June Norwich Union will be rebranded to Aviva. Please note Norwich Union will now display as Aviva on the list of insurers and secure messaging mailbox addresses.
